Mimi - don't forget about the world!

My mother said I had to interview Mimi for my blog, that Mimi had always been an inspiration to her.  I quickly realized why Mimi is an inspiration to my mother, because they have similar core values - hard working, family oriented women that thrive in the outdoors.  Over the past 20 years, I have become acutely aware of the role nature plays for humans, it has a profound impact on our brains and behaviimg_6803or, helping reduce anxiety and stress, while increasing attention capacity, creativity, and ability to connect with other people.  A hike or run on the trails always provides me with much needed clarity.  Napa has some tremendous nature to help ease the stress of daily life.Attitude: At 89, Mimi finds her solace outdoors in her garden. She has spent most of her life in Napa raising her children and step children (grown with their own families).  In her spare time, she golfs, plays tennis, volunteers and takes care of both her lovely home and huge garden.  She says her garden makes her happy and more alive.Passion: "You have to have a life", commented Mimi, she takes advantage of events in the valley.  She opens her home to people visiting Napa that need housing and has enjoyed meeting men/women from New York, Charlotte and China, etc.  Mimi has been impressed by her visitors and they have reinforced that there are a lot of nice people in the world.  She plans to travel to Puerto Vallarta to visit one of friend and past house guest in the spring.Fashion: Mimi has never really cared about clothes, the day we met her she was wearing one of her mother's polos and her grandmother's sweater.Mimi has quite a life filled with people and nature and at 89, she shows no sign of slowing down!
